Just bought my first KTM and was told this is the place to post about it.

Picking it up Tuesday.

Cann't wait.

It's on a 08 plate. Weight reduced for rallying and come with a road map and other bits and bobs for competing in a Rally or 2.

Here's a few pics.

Have been told the FCR is a perfect substitute.
What model would the carb come off?
Going on a 2003 640 adv

Thanks

** also having starting issues. Pinned it down to starter or gears, will I need any 'special' tools to remove and inspect?
I have an FCR41 on my 2003. By far the best modification you can make to a 640 Adventure, albeit an expensive one...

Thanks Mancunian, we have an FCR from a 540, hoping that may fit.

I believe you can custom order them from Motion Pro in any length you need. If I recall, you need cable length, sleeve length and the end types and sizes.

Been meaning to do this myself!

Eric, seems to be a good catch, welcome and congrats!
You will love it

For any help you need, check the KTM LC4 (640) Thread Index http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86958, and also here you can launch a search for whatever you need, it's probably already posted. And if you can't find it... ask it

Welcome.

Thanks Low, I'm just a KLR guy at heart and was hoping someone might be parting out a 640 and wanted to sell the cable cheap but if nothing turns up your guidance is mucho appreciated.

Dude

The rider in Training stick has to go!

Looks like an 05' to 07' with an SXC tank?

You can see the mounts for the 2nd disc that was removed

The tank is the stock 640A.
According to the graphic design of the tank, the bike should be a '06 or '07 model.
I'm almost sure '07 is the last production year. He must be told wrongly it's a '08.

The later 640adv's had dual disc from the 950, someone must have removed one. Some of the 950 guys do the same when riding mostly dirt.

Congrats on the purchase! Aren't you worried about your head? The upper edge of the fairing seems to be quite sharp...
