The Michelins work fine on hard pack. Might not be the same on goop, though. Pirelli makes a 60/40 tire that will fit the F800R in the MT60-R. I think the Pirelli Scorpion Trail might be available, as well. Metzler makes a cruiser tire in the ME880 that fits. Interestingly, Touratech doesn't sell the tire it shows in the pic of the Scrambler kit. I wrote to them and the response was maybe it was a Heidenau K60 scout or a TKC 80. I can't find either of those anywhere that would fit the F800R stock rims.

Feels good, preload knob sticks out slightly, but you don't notice it when riding as it's behind your leg, and I'm more than happy with the result.

Dirt... guess I gotta buy some of that too... decisions! Do I go spray on or splash on?

There's probably dirt "film" that sticks on. Easier to keep clean.

i recently spoke with a factory guy from ohlins about redoing my front suspension without having to mess with my rear, but he got onto some inherent problem with the f800r's rear shock mount needing help ...

None that I'm aware of, straight forward fit.. Do the front alone and you'll notice the rear.

yup - that's what i ran into in doing a mod on another bike, so my intent is to do the front mod only to 'match' the factory rear.

If you've ever done the front separate from the back or vice versa, you almost always run into this issue.
