Triangle Lake is the body of water in question. The spot I was parked on was actually Bear Ridge. Prairie Mountain can be partially viewed at the upper right portion of the picture..

Oh yeah.... that is spectacular country out there!

I had originally tried to follow the N. fork south back to Monument but hit too many gates, dead ends etc... and made the loop back out to 395 instead.
