Seized my piston. I'm batting 1000 with this bike.

I'll tear down this week after I reassemble my other bike. Don't need 2 piles of bikes in the garage at a time.

Sorry to hear that! At least it happened in the middle of the winter and not during the riding season.

Washed the mud off my bike from a New Year's ride, then took a few laps around the house... Better than nothing.

I stood on mine again today. Not sure why I'm bothering, since stopping is going to be verboten.

Got to have balance when going slow. And someday you will start riding ITSA events!

I've been informed this was caused by user error & I didn't let the bike warm up enough. "4-corner" cold seize.

Don't pass Go. Don't collect 200$

650$ with core exchange from Rising Sun. At least I'll know the engine is pretty fresh now.

Well, it was yesterday actually....

Replaced the crap OE Honda clutch in Miss Bitters 315R with a Sureflex clutch -

The difference is simply amazing! No more of that frustrating Montesa clutch dragging when cold, and SO much more progressive than the rather grabby OE clutch. The bike is so much fun to ride now that I spent 2 hours (in 35 degree weather!) goofing off on it in front of the house. The real test will come this weekend at SanYo, but so far I'm VERY impressed. Huge thanks to Dennis at Overland Cycle - http://www.overlandtrail.biz/ for the suggestion and the clutch!

What kind of oil are you putting in it?

Have to agree ... the Sureflex clutch is brilliant. Now have one in my 4RT.

Played around with oils with the old clutch. ELF HTX as recommended is very, very good. ATF took 1/2 a minute to clear when cold. Am now on a 10 weight mineral transmission fluid (meets Caterpillar TO-4 standard) which is as good as the ELF!!!!! Says it is designed for complex gear and clutch systems ... sounds like a trials bike transmission to me. I buy 20 litres at a time and it's very cheap. I change it every 10 hours. This oil plus the Sureflex, I'm in heaven. It even starts in gear now.

Plastered Purple Penguin Trial

I rode the Plastered Purple Penguin Trial on Sunday on my old Bultaco. This was a Puget Sound Trialers event held in Marysville WA. It was 25 degrees when I got there. I mostly crashed my way around on the ice and ended up face planting hard enough to ring my bell and leave a mark. PST had a vintage class with 4 people in the class. I got last with a personal worst score ever.

I still had fun and my legs are sore enough today to make it difficult to get out of the truck this afternoon.

I did the same on Sunday. How's your head? I was there when you went down and it was quite a thud. I was the guy in the white helmet on the 4rt following you guys around most of the day.

Sorry to hear that. I have heard of it, but first time that I saw it! Thanks for the pics. Well at least your bike will be fresh this spring. Have you checked the jetting just to be sure?

Hi Brian, no damage just a skinned chin and a bruised ego. Everybody at the trial was great. Seems like a good group.
Thanks
Dave
