My '73 cb750 for sure, and probably my '08 Buell Lightning. I'd probably sell the Buell for a good price, then go buy another.

No Chris. I bought it from Slegers-Forbes in Whippany.

My 1993 Ducati Monster M900. I bought it brand new, first year of production, with 6 miles on it. I now have almost 20 years and over 200K miles on it, and I still love it as much as the day I first brought it home.
Also my 1960 Heinkel scooter. I had a lot of great adventures on that bike, and it has a good stories from before I owned it as well. I don't ride it a lot anymore; it's mostly sentimental, but I'm keeping it forever. PhilB

Well, that doesn't make you a bad person.

My 2000 RM250 2-stroke.
Bought as a non-runner. Got it running the first time and the motor sounded exactly like a watch in a blender. I put way too much money into that bike but now it's nearly a brand new machine. It's a finicky lil' bitch and the carb will most likely never be dialed in. But its one of those bikes that challenged me and perplexed me so much I can never part with it. I have spent countless hours sitting on the stool in my garage trying to out wit that bike. And I even think once in a while she lets me feel like I'm winning. Also, my 2001 F350 Dually. I know it's not a bike but I thought it was worth mentioning. 10+ years and 200k and we're not anywhere near finished with each other. |

Sorry, I don't. I'm far too discombooberated to pull off something like that.

![]() ![]() This is my 06 sv650. Bought it new as my first bike. I always thought it was a good bike. I turned it into a race bike, so I had to buy a street bike to get to school. First bought a zx6, sold it again within a month. Then bought a fz1, good bike, but didnt like the I4. Now I have a KLR 650 and will probably be gone in a year. I will never sell the sv. After riding other bikes I love the sv even more. Just turned the sv back into a street bike. :)

That's funny. I'm about to sell my KLR too (I hate it). I think I'll buy and modify an XR650l when the KLR leaves.

Two bikes I'll never sell are my highly modified 68 Trail 90 and 81 GL500I. Wouldn't get much for either of them but they both serve their purpose perfectly. The Trail 90/140 is the ultimate in simplicity and light weight, cost nothing to own, and takes me places where a larger bike could never go. Did I mention 100 mpg? The GL is the perfect middle weight bike for everything from a trip to the grocery store to a long road trip. Very low maintenance, comfortable, good handling, 50+ mpg.

A little clarity Dakez. For my next big DS I want somthing that is just as happy putting as it is hauling the mail. The XR-R and my KTM525 really only felt "right" when I was hauling the mail. When putting they felt like a caged animal. I'm going to pick up an XR-L and do to it what I did to my DR350 (it had 1988 RM250 forks sprung and valved for me and a custom shock, all by Cogent).
The XR-L will get KTM forks with radial brakes and a Penske triple clicker (I already have them), pumper carb, stainless header with a GSXR OEM titanium can (already have it) and remove any thing that doesn't make it go (weight). It should be a keeper. ![]() ![]() I LOVED my DR off road, but it was gutless for supermoto.
