My GN400 ice-bike/flat-tracker. One pic is in winter mode and the other in summer mode. Bunch of weight reduction done to it and some mods to omph it up. The big master cylinder is replaced with one from a RM80, and the disc will be wave cut and drilled to reduce wieght. Got a front caliper from a Kawwy GZ125 for the front to replace that boat anchor caliper.

Last winter at a local ice track event, non sanctioned, just for fun. Big ol' 52tooth sprocket on the rear brings it to life.

Summer mode with 19" rims and dual-sport tires (PE400 rear wheel, GS650 front wheel). Big ol' tach is gone, soon to be replaced by an mini electronic speedo/tach/temp guage/hour meter. Aint no lowly looking GN400 no more. #9 is a tribute to both Gary Nixon and Jay Springsteen. I've enjoyed times with them both at races and spent a day in Springer's shop near San Diego back in 96 at Del Mar.

Here's one I didn't even know existed...

A friend just picked it up along with another Champion frame. It was former pro rider Dave Hanson's Husqvarna 360. I guess it once ran a 250 Mag engine, but has the 360 right now. I guess they didn't run all that great back in the day otherwise I'd probably have read or heard something about it.

Another I never saw until one year at Ashland was a Maico flat tracker. I guess certain engines either weren't really worked with or just didn't work.

Regardless, another interesting flat tracker from the past.

Interesting... I missed some time in flat track around 78-80 when I wasn't paying much attention. It is all just so cool.

Best part about Sammy tanner, he's at almost every flat track or speedway race in the area, I usually see him at least once a month at a track, more like 3 times a week during the speedway season.
