Faroer and Iceland 2012 -
Hi Folks...
Yeah.. What a holiday. That was kind of "Adventure" ![]() My first Plan was to stay three weeks on Iceland plus 5 Days on the ferry... But finally it was: 1.) stuck one week in Danmar (Reason: defect Generator and a burst oilradiator) 2.) 3 Days on Faroer: new booking of the ferry was fine..faroer is nice! 3.) One Week on Iceland. After a Ccrash on gravel I decided to leave early. You can read about the whole adventure at http://iceland-2012.blogspot.de/ But I want to post some nice picture... Danmark--- stuck in Aalbourg Oilradiator bursts. The right side of the bike including the aluboxes took a shower of hot oil. The day before the generator was damage and I just tried to get on the ferry in Hirtshals. But 50km before Hirthals the Radiator bursts... Help arrived after 2 hours.. At this point I thought that my holidays are gone. But to my fortune I was able to book a the ferry in 5 days. So the bike was fixed in aalbourg. The oilradiator was not fixed bit I was lucky I bought a kind of oilbypass from touratech so I could ride on. At the ferry I met Karin (BMW F650GS) and Holger (Triumph Tiger 955i). We decided to drive together... Departure from Hirtshals The Shetlands... Arrival at Faroer On the way to the campingsite... Picture is taken at 1o'clock a.m :-) Forst Campingsite and a waving Holger :-) Beautiful Faeroer After three days we took the ferry to Iceland This is the video where you can see me diving into the gravel -- After that my Bike got several damges and my right side hurts badly. So I decided to take the ferry some days later to get back. I was afraid that the bike didn't make it to the ferry. But at least it works... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEh1yvOL1BA Everywhere the smell of sulfur... Bike in sulfursteam :-) Die Schneefräsen haben hier eine andere Dimension als zuHause im Ruhrpott..:-) The geysirs.. The campingsite is just 50m apart.... My Helmet after the accident.....Graveldesign :-) Burst of the Geysir The water got boiling temperature... |

Well for just one week you saw quite a bit of it. Geysir, the whale museum and the bay with the floating icebergs are all on opposing sides of Iceland.
Where was this? Maybe I'll take some time and head back to the highlands this summer ... |
