Mine doesn't owe me a nickel after a rock hit I took this summer.
Essential equipment for off-road use, if you ask me.

Received mine a few weeks ago. The welds are a work of art. The black powder coat is expertly applied.
Fit is good using stock bolts. I didn't say excellent because at the top there is a gap where it touches the engine case. In contrast, the OEM skid plate is molded (or cast maybe) to the exact curve of the engine case and therefore it seals water out of the battery area. Not a big deal. But the factory plate is actually pretty damn nice, albeit the metal is too thin.

I just stuck a piece of foam weatherstrip up there and the gap was gone.

Just Damn!!
I installed my Weld86 skidplate yesterday. Long story short...I tried an SWMotech "engine guard" and after seeing how "long hanging fruit" looking the right engine case was, I sent it back. Charlie's plate, on the other hand, is a fucking tank!! It is also kinda purty(didn't want to put it on). The design is simple, functional and the welding made me jealous.
One suggestion, Charlie, offer the plate with or without the drain hole. |
