308 223 question
I'd like to build my first AR someday, yeah my timing sucks. Just starting to start researching. It's been something on the list for 10 years.
I'd like a .308, can I use the same lower for that and get a .223 upper later on? Or are the mags that different? |

It depends on the lower but generally no, you can't use a .308 in a .223 lower. (some lowers do allow it though.) The magazines aren't not interchangeable. It's basically like comparing a long-action to a short-action.

+1
I love my 300 Blackout. It is my baby and still seems like the most fun gun I own. I have heard of an AR in 22 mag. That is next on my list after some research.

I have begun the "tacticalization" process of the Five seveN.
![]() I also just ordered fixed night sights, threaded barrel, and submitted my paper work for the Gemtech SFN-57 suppressor. Once those items are completed, I feel it will be "tacticalized".

How big of a suppressor do you need for that thing?
