Got her guessing. Told her that if a bike is missing out of the garage, it probably WASN'T stolen....oh and she might not find me either. Think I have her afraid to look at this forum ![]() My choice for only one bike? REALLY, only one??? ![]() Can't do single cylinder- the fillings in my teeth aren't that tight and I need lots of paved distances. Mid-sized machine Tiger 800, GS800 But supersizing that-a couple riders I know raved about the new Multistradas that they rented in Europe. |

I had an BMW R1100GS and Xchallenge at the same time, didn't have the time to ride both of them much. Sold the Xc and wrote off the 1100, but was getting this built; picked it up last Wednesday.

Think I have her afraid to look at this forum
![]() Let's hope so. It's taken me years to convince my wife that owning only one motorcycle, or quad, or truck/car/Jeep is not only inconvenient but it's also downright un-American.

XT600 2kf. It is cheap, reliable, good all round bike. And who cares if I crash it, I just pick it up and continue riding :)
If I had more money, hmm, MAYBE I'd think about F800GS but I don't like highways so I think I don't need a bike that is faster than my XT. Thumpers rule! |

i've see a lot of votes for the 12GS. I too own one but I'd have to say a first gen FZ1 with a well tuned suspension for me. That bike will do it all.

I don't know.......................having owned close to 100 motorcycles I think it would boil down to where I'm at now. My DRZ400S is a do everything bike but the GS is a lot more comfortable and can do most everything the DR can do.
If I had to choose one it would probably be a DR 650 which can cover both ability and comfort. However, owning a GS I'd have to stick with it If I could only have one

I can afford only one bike and my DR650 does everything I've asked from it. I commute, chase sportbikes, tour, hit forest service roads and single track. Not only will it do pretty much anything a motorcycle can do, it does it cheaply and reliably
![]() Of course if I could swing it, I'd have a garage full of bikes....

DR650 - the most versatile bike I have ever owned. I did everything on it from single track to LD touring. Never let me down once in the five years I owned it. Ridiculously cheap and easy to maintain, it never broke and it was always fun to ride.

If everything must go I will always hold on to the BMW HP2 Enduro. It is the practical exotic. Meaning it is rare without the usual rare bike issues of no dealer, no parts, and lacking reliability. 5 yrs, 40K and never an issue.
