On my feed viewed in VLC there's currently snooker going on, and according to the TV schedule that corresponds to that broadcast the Dakar show is to start at 22:49 UTC/GMT.

I'm guessing that you're watching the other feed (the dedicated UK-feed via your cabel TV provider?) and according to that schedule it says that the Dakar show is to start at 23:00 (UTC/GMT)

Looking for somebody familiar with the rules. Is there any kind of time limit a rider needs to complete one of these middle neutralized zones? I don't think Louis would care about a time penalty but it would be crap if he were DQ'd.

Purely speculation but I think if ASO responded to a distress call they would notify crew ASAP (JMo would know) and crew would find some way to notify those back at the hearth.

Either 11 or 15 or 17km. I get confused easily.
Edit: but from there it's 158km to bivouac.

Varies. At some point they close the cp. They know he is out there....

Somebody elaborated not long ago that a rider only lose their start slot and gains the extra time, so he should not be DQ'ed
