You seriously lucked out, but if this guy has an expensive Mercedes, then that much money may not have been a big deal to him. It would have probably cost him way more had his insurance company paid it.

I laugh at all the "advice" given about this, without having all the information. Lots of people sure are quick to jump to conclusions about "Sticking it to him" just because he knocked over a bike, or that he drives a Mercedes. Has nobody ever made a simple mistake and actually owned up to it and paid the consequences?
Would it not have been more productive to give the bike owner some insight into what to maybe check on the bike that may be "hidden" damage? I really think that he was looking for that kind of advice, more so than a lot of the other comments. |
