Thank you Sue and the Friends of Horseshoe Bend Animals! This rescue group really stepped up and took this personally. They are the reason he is back home with his family! Also, I think the guy who runs the Dog Me boarding kennel should give up doing this. The local rescue group said this is the FOURTH DOG they KNOW he has LOST. This is crap...complete and utter crap. Never, ever board your animals there.

I have used it before here and on other forums...just thought it appropriate to bring it back for a while..had it up for abt a week now

Stuckin, that 5.8 tank will make riding that XR4 a less than pleasant experience. Difficult to mount, impossible to service the bike and all for range you will NEVER need. And if you do fill it up you will not even want to ride anymore. And ruins the ergonomics. Have had four XR4s and four Clarke 3.8 tanks. Excellent, never fail quality and a perfect fit. I have never needed more fuel. I have a 13 yr old Clarke on my CR250, cap gasket went bad. They sent me another, no problem, can't beat'em. Many do a lot of Walter Mitty dreaming but do you really think you will ever be on a ride of more than 180 miles without being near a gas station somewhere?

Hmmm, that reminds me, my 4 year old Clarke tank gas cap gasket fell apart, need to give them a shout.

Nice thing about the 5.8 gallon tanks is twin petcocks, and each have a reserve. I've had IMS 4.7 and Clarke tanks on my xrl's, a spirited pace would have me turning to reserve in 100 miles.

XR400 is gonna be sippier on fuel, and 5.8 is a big tank to do tough singletrack. I'm pretty sure it's the same 5.8 tank on 400's 600R's or 650L's, just different mounts, 650R is a whole nuther animal.
