I have to wait until the Desert 100 - April !!!! Although I'm going to Rally Mexico 2013 (WRC) in March 2013. Alas, not bikes.

It is weird how bereft I feel when this is over each year. Last year I was driving solo through Namibia - in those rare occasions when I could get to the internets I came here first.

It's not quite the end of the world guys, or another full year to wait - a series of mini fixes coming up with the FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championsip plus Oillibya Morocco and the Oz Safari, so 8 headline events, many to include CDP and Coma although they rarely compete head to head.

Included this year is Argentina and Bazil also, so see you all early in April for the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge 2014

I very much agree with you but in one breath I added if this was the case, Husaberg would be celebrating 12 consecutive victory and KTM would be staying back being affraid of negative press comments on its failure on the toughest race in the world. I guess it comes back to your comment on Yamaha. For KTM MX, enduro and rally is the priority compared to the street bike market.

Well, then it make perfect sense. If any other brands than KTM reaches during the upcoming years the podium, it would be rather a conicident

So shall we start collecting bets on the 2014 results?

FOr those of us who want to go back and see the progression of things in just the last few years. I decided the other day, when I knew I couldn't keep up because I had no internet, that I was going to go back on ADV as far as I could to get some centralized knowledge. This list of course doesn't include any of the "How can I get my tire pressure release to empty into my intake" threads... or... "What brand mustache do you all like" threads.

BMW is a multi billion dollar company, and by extending their racing arm to associated brands, it minimises and disassociates any 'bad press' should those teams not do particularly well, in what is a very competitive but still niche field... noone in Munich wants to see a headline "BMW fail in.... [whatever]" in the press?

Ehm, what BMW enduro bike should be the kit based on please? G450X is finished and as far, as I know, there is no other bike on the way. Not to mention, that investment in speedbrain kit development for Husqvarna is quite OK...

Jonas Street is 3 minutes down in 13th place. He is the top American and the short notice new rider on the Pan American privateer effort. He was profiled on another thread. Congrats to the Pan Am all the guys for a fine start!
