Buddy in high school's family owned the local funeral home. He always got the old hearse to drive around. The "ultimate" station wagon? I wouldn't allow my daughter to date a guy driving a hearse, though...

That's the previous generation. The new(er) Forester is the same size as the old Outback. The new Outback is moving into SUV sized territory.

The 09+ forester looks like a boat well the front end does anyway. Is the outback being redesigned already or are you talking about the current model?

Current model. IMO, it's pretty big.

I dunno, maybe I'm stuck in the past. Subaru, to me, is a company that makes tough, reliable, reasonably priced AWD vehicles. Oh, and they went rallying, too.

But, they pulled support for their WRC team, and they're making larger and larger 'luxury active lifestyle' vehicles.

I sold my Forester a while ago and miss it alot. 5spd turbo with a couple upgrades was super fun to drive.

If you're so worried about Subies getting bigger, get a WRX wagon! Those zoom, zoom Mazda's are fugly at best...
For $27k you can have fast, fast, fast AND all wheel drive (AWD)

No lift, 215/70/16's on some Enkeis. Slowed it down a bit, but a Cobb DP, tuner at stage 2, and Borla catback woke it up a lot.
