Great thread, always enjoy a successful end.

One thing: what fastener are you going to put back into that position? I'd think a torx head would be pretty appropriate, I know I would not go back with an allen head fastener on my bike.

After the fact I know, but a buddy on mine came up with a great, safe way to put heat to a bolt head way down inside an assembly like this one; use a sodering iron.
