Just looking at diesel prices down there. Beatty is $3.699 and Bishop $3.839. But I expect Panamint is significantly higher. Lone Pine, 40 miles away is $4.379. Tonopah is the same as Bishop.

Death Valley
Looks like I'm obligated by work to be back by Friday, March 1 so my travel plans are in flux.

Got out for a short ride today, first one (on the road) since I froze my nuts off going to St. Anthony in November. The sunshine was great and it felt good to get out!

Plating a dirt bike
It's Idaho so I figure it's probably a simple thing. I'm planning to take Sam's advice and get a smaller bike this spring. I'm leaning toward plating a dirt bike so it's de-smogged and fuel mapped how I want out of the box. Then plug in a simple SICASS kit for the street legal bits. Anything to be aware of with the DMV?

I just love seeing the snow melt a little bit every day! I dug out the TW and the ct90 today to shake out the cobwebs and charge up the batteries. I also layed claim to a new to me bottom end for my KLR, as my crank bearings are toast. Right now it looks like this...
![]() When its all said and done it'll have a 9000 mile bottom end and a 688. Also hoping to rebuild the forks and install a set of intiminators. Throw in new tires and chain and sprockets and I'll be ready for spring !
