Upgrade weekend for me
Took a full year of searching to find this 2006 Rev3 for $2,500.
![]() ![]() Old and new ---- ![]() I got most of the service done on the new one. Trying to decide if I should leave the ATF in it. The clutch is actualy smoother on my Techno with Rotella 6T in the gear box.

Brakes cleaned and bled, new tires spooned on. Basically just waiting on piston\cylinder to come in, and we'll be back in action. The bike already feels 100x better than before.

Those Betas are pretty. The blue one seems to continue to hold up years later. My neighbor Dean has the same Beta and never rides it.
Like me I reckon.

Been down in the garage looking at my bikes. Too much ice in the driveway even to start them up. Meanwhile, I have bicycle projects to keep me busy.

Ute Cup Practice
We are having a bit of a melt out, plus something like an inch of rain on top of frozen ground. In a word. Goose Poo.
Rode a bit at TheGraydog's pits. The Duck Pond: ![]() ![]() And the big pit: ![]() I tried to cut across the edge of the pit, and the entire face sluffed off. Water was probably about 18" deep, with 5" of mud below that, we didn't even try. Graydog had to drag me and my bike out, after the requisite picture. Powerful little bugger. ![]() We worked this log quite awhile. The big logs were mostly too terrifying. ![]() ![]() ![]() Good practice for holding pressure. ![]() Followed by half an hour of washing bikes and people.

The Graydog holding pressure! Looks like cold wet times. Kinda Northwestern in flavor. Not using your NEW boots I hope....

Yep, this was your kind of glop. To get any lift for the little log, we had to start the wheelie from ten feet back where there was any traction. Holding pressure was an artifact of riding in on the back wheel. I actually cleaned the whole move up the bank a couple times, after figuring out that little moves don't work in six inches of mud.
New boots are still in the box, although I wore them around the house one afternoon, feeling like OJ in my Italian footwear... |

You can use the rear brake to wheelie anytime! You just have to think it through!
