I just packed up my old Hamilton field watch. It's a self wind.

My point is the service center is in New Jersey. Where will the Smiths be serviced?

The watches look mostly identical to me.

Do you ride a Triumph or follow the royal family?

If you do better buy the Smiths, if not I'd recommend the Hamilton.

Good point on the service issue. I have been looking at the Hamilton for awhile but a Smiths popped up on the sale forum on Watchuseek and got me thinking. I think I will stick with the plan for getting the Hamilton for now (if I decide to spend the money) because I know if I get the Smiths I will still want the Hammy. Thanks for the input.

I'd read the reviews, I have had this Casio on my wrist for a couple of years. I never take it off period and I cc ski, kayak, dual sport, swimming, bathing,. I do all my own mechanics and carpentry, Casio loves the saws-all. It is incredibly tough, comfortable and cheap and so coolly effective that all my other better watches just sit. Waterproof to 600 ft so it's a dive watch approved for space travel.
Go figure.

$40.

There is. I got my first 6309 diver in the mail Christmas Eve. This is my second. Both all original, both Suwa dials. I bought them from one of the trusted sellers at SCWF. Got the Seiko eventually, they shipped it from Japan. I didn't like the height of the case at first but it has grown on me. It's a keeper.

I'll change the strap to a brown leather one at some point.

I'd go with the hammy. I'm biased because I have a khaki mechanical that's been superb, but I also think that the Everest looks too much like an Explorer I and thus lacks in the originality department, whereas the Hamilton seems to be its own style.
