Aerostich bags are lined with waterproof material and have an optional inner pouch. Mine is my constant companion and I never wanta backpack again. I don't like riding with a bag on so mine rides ina topcase but around town wioth frequent stops a courier bag is excellent and easily accessible while sitting on the bike.
The clutch deglazing sounds like a nuisance but you are okay with it...

Thanks! Yeah, I've got the service manual. I just couldn't find the nut size in it, though, and was hoping to not have to remove oall the cover bolts just to find out.

Wanted to verify this and it looks like the wrench says 18mm lol
