in Europe they offer a monster TDI in that Q7... V12? crazy expensive... Audi makes such a great v8 it's a shame they don't offer that in the Q7...

Clearly, nothing succeeds like excess.

I would love to be getting the Q ship with their V8.

Serious aural gratification, there.

That's your point of view from the drivers seat ..

What do you think about the vehicles/people around you hearing all the clatter, breathing diesel fumes?

That's what it is all about...getting along

Controlled diesel smoke

Nothing makes a tailgater back off better than a cloud of black smoke!

However I avoid smoking out all others.

Congrats on the buy.. you'll love the car. I ended up buying a diesel Cayenne after searching for a diesel Touareg. I didn't need 3rd row seating. All three have the same motor/trans.

Those above who claim diesels stink and make noise are grossly uninformed. I came out of a diesel Duramax Chevy crew cab 4x4 into my Porsche, and the Chevy is the least offensive of the 'big three' diesel trucks.

As you know from driving both cars, driving a 3.0 TDI car isn't like driving a diesel at all. My Cayenne is the quietest, nicest, most solid, best well built car I've ever owned. And, 'clean burn' techology means the air coming out of the exhaust pipe is cleaner than the air going into the air cleaner.

Nix the naysayers.. enjoy your diesel.

You want a badass diesel? VW made the previous generation Toureg available with a V10 twin turbo TDI which made 310hp and 553 ft.-lbs of torque. That's some serious shove. Not many were sold due to the stratospheric price, but used ones can be found for under $30k.

Thanks.

I'm looking forward to it.
