Thanks, searched those and all have the cylinder retainer out of stock, but I'll keep looking.

This box looked similar. Apparently it was shipped in the Bushnell box, then someone took a razor to that and cut off the shipping label and identifying numbers of the scope model. Then they repackaged it with cardboard, taped the hell out of it and shipped it to me.

But I didn't order a scope.

There is an excellent chance they won't cycle light target loads. The 1187 will handle from light to heavy but I've owned both and the 1100 mag didn't do well with light loads. Personally I'd look for an 1187 if I wanted to have the 3" option available to me.

Thanks for the info, I looked around a little and found that the options were to replace the barrell, or to drill out the gas port on the magnum barrell. Will look into the 1187.

Did you photograph everything while packing it, then ship it Overnight Early Delivery and insure it for full value? Did your customer fuck up and sign for it without inspecting it first? When I get a damaged package, I tell the driver that either I open it and inspect it before signing and/or I will refuse delivery, his choice. That puts everything on the carrier.

Uhhhh...no. Those custom cases I was making back then weighed 20+lbs by them selves..Total was probably close to 40lbs Not to mention the value so very few people would overnight one.
None of the contents were damaged just the case, plus the runaround. Pretty stressful and lost a customer because of it. The whole story was weird like a twilight episode.
Come to think of it that might have been close to area 51..

I'm in search of small pistol primers, so I've been making the rounds of the local guns shops for the past few weeks and every time I've been in one there's someone buying their first gun. It's an interesting phenomenon and I'm glad to see it. It's got to be intimidating to walk into a specialty store not knowing all the lingo, especially since so many gun store employees are such douche bags.

+1 I just took a fellow rider to his LGS a week ago during the guns across America event. Still don't think he knows what he wants or how he'll use it but at least now he has some good basic knowledge and is familiar with how to look.

On another note... Today was gun art day.

Williams double barrel "wall hanger" due to demascus barrels. Too old and pitted to ever be used again but cleaned up it will make for a great show piece in the man cave.

Oh and the pelts are home tanned squirrel, rabbit, Racoon and deer.

No worries, common mistake that I've probably made. Enjoy your new firearm! If it's your first, it certainly won't be your last I'm sure.

Hope you take the time to sign up for a good firearms training class or a concealed carry class. Even though I have shot for a long time I found the one I took very educational more for the laws and fill in the gap information presented.
