I'm looking at getting the DR650 rear shock shaft upgrade.



I currently have the stock rear shock with a 7.5 kg/mm aftermarket spring that uses the stock spring perches. I’m interested in buying a new shock shaft assembly but would like to forgo buying another spring.

Does the shock shaft assembly come with a spring adapter that works with stock sized springs?

I had my Triumph Tiger 1050 back out to Racetech after a gold valve install so one of their techs could evaluate it. He was quite happy with the balance & compliance as was I. Looks like a super setup for those of you with this bike.

It was a pleasure to meet some of you at the Seattle IMS show, After talking to several I quickly found out we needed to get a Triumph 800 Roadie in the shop for some R&D. At the show I talked to a rider that was willing to send his forks in and we now have them here at Racetech. We will be working up some specs on them and getting some product out directly after the new year on this model. We also have the bike coming in after the new year for the rear shock specs and workup. We should not have any issues supplying either rebuild/revalve kits or the G3-S shock shortly after the new year.

Interested in the tiger 800 roadie kit for both forks and shock. Is it available?

It's not advertised for the front, but RaceTech has one. I bought all the front components and have yet to install them. I was told the rear kit is coming shortly. I got new springs, spacers and gold valve kits for rebound and compression.

I've used RaceTech in the past on my DR650 and the results were night and day. Clearly more work if you are doing it yourself, but great results for the cost. I think I was in the $400 range for everything for the front end. Unknown on the rear.

All that has held me off is that I need a headlift stand so I can remove the forks.

Thanks. I've got no problem installing myself. Maybe the OP will chime in... If you get your front installed please post up in the tiger thread or here. I am sure it's a big improvement over stock.

Swimmer, I'm just getting on to buying a Pitbull headlift stand. Once I do, I'll start the forks. Full step by step tutorial coming. I figure a couple of weeks.

It's a 10, but old school suspension isn't . . . . .

Looking at springs & gold valves . . . . . . etc.
