I ran this setup a few years ago with everything on a Meca System bracket attached to the triple clamps. The weight was never a problem even on 500km days! Even with the organisers GPS which was at least a couple of kgs it's self. A previous poster mentioned that the weight is quite far back (as opposed to frame mounting) and I think this is maybe why this setup works.

I know, but you made that easy, I had to give you grief.

Otoh, I started with well over 600lbs of mold grade aluminum, where are you getting yours at those prices, I'd love to pick some up for the next tool.

I've got over 1000 miles on my HDB Ralley lite + my home made fairing while I wait for Paul's prettier design to hit production and have not had any issues w/ the set up.

The whole bracket & light assembly is so compact and lite that I do not notice it at all.

Our 2 blocks of mould grade aluminium were 32"x24"x6" and were $1800 each.We machined away over 70% to achieve the finished product.
There is no cheap way to make a mould,only less expensive one's!!!!!!!

If it makes you feel any better we have titanium blisks that get forged to shape and them machined to final dimensions. These get used in our jet engines and each blisk costs about $150,000. Occasionally someone screws one up and it gets scrapped Luckily the factory I work in only deals with blades

I have sectioned numerous blades from RR back when I was working in the UK's National metrology lab when we used to check the shot peening results in the blades using x-ray equipment (sometimes I wonder if my kids will develop a third hand or something. Which may be usefull when racing but then again... ) ... Boy, every single time I was getting my hands on one of these things was WOW !

As Paul and Mitch said, this method is way expensive. Even if you owe the CNC equipment it is still expensive and you have to make enough out of whatever you are developing to justify the cost... Otherwise you are left with a pretty aluminium part and a hole in your pocket... It can happen once, or twice but after that you start having troubles with your wife etc ...

The amazing thing is that it looks heavier, may be because of its height, but the scale there proves me wrong ...

That looks vey good, is that mounted to the forks or the frame?
I'm still looking for a way to mount my setup on my 350F, would prefer a frame mounted system but not alter the frame in any way.

Would you be able to post a shot of your mounting solution?

Since I know I'm not the only one that had to look it up:
