Headlight mod for 6v vintage Honda ???
My project is a 1971 Honda CL100 and has 6v system and burned out OEM "old style" sealed beam HL. While I don't really care how bright it gets, I do want it to work for legal reasons. There are halogen 6v bulbs to use and I have done a similar fix on a 12v vintage bike by using silicone to put a 12v halogen bulb in the hole where the original bulb is soldered in. Is there an easier fix w/o spending money for a 6v old style bulb from Asia?

Another fix is to buy one of these http://dratv.com/newoffroheas.html then cut out the whole socket portion and silicone it into the back of your original bulb. This gives you the look of the original bulb but with the ability to change burned out bulbs down the road.

Thanks, they are a USA reseller of the Asian bike stuff I've been looking at on ebay.
For now I'm leaning toward the use of a 6v 35w H3 bulb that I would silicone into the OEM Honda reflector with a ground wire soldered to the base of the H3 bulb. I need to try a 12v 55w H3 & see how much it draws on 6v & how bright it gets with 6v's as I have a drawer of them from wrecks. Seems that many Chinese handheld lanterns use those 6v bulbs but not many bulbs out there in USA but I found one source.
