TW200 question

I'm the proud owner of a Yamaha TW200. Great entry into the dual-sport world.

Quick question: I bought a pair of boots with a reinforced toe. The toe is too fat to fit between the left peg and the gear shift. Can I adjust either of these to accommodate the boot?

Move the shifter up a spline or two on the shift shaft.

Good advise on JTuckers end........also,other Yamaha shifters ,which may be longer, will fit the TW.
