Yeah ... they ALL do that .... see that's what I said ...

You can't read ALL my old threads... you don't have time

For a while at least, the replacement water pumps were coming with both a plastic and a metal gear so they could be matched to the existing gear material on the camshaft ... not sure if they still do that.... it would be a "revenue enhancer" for the dealership if they didn't ............

Uber-Blue ... the BMW dealer has it for about $40 / gallon ... it's great ... the blue color comes from the dissolved pharmaceuticals that are in it ... that's why you have to stay away from the green crap Reaver uses ....

It's all good... I have a good supply of blue cool-aid, it comes in a 25.4 oz (750 ml) cans imported from down under............ but It's only for human cooling systems....

OK... so I took off the panels, clamped the hose shut and opened the radiator cap. To my surprise there was coolant all the way to the top!

My reservoir was at the low side so I topped it off and I am trying to put on the right side panel again...

For the life of me I can't get the damn screw in that goes through the beak, side panel and air dam...

Does anyone have any tips on this screw? I hate it...

Here in Brazil, this problem is very common. BMW replaces it under warranty. There are some guys that had it replaced two or three times. The water pump has poor quality o'rings. BMW replaces the pump instead of o'rings.

I wish I was under warranty... I'll be damned if I pay a ton of money for something that isn't totally broke... I don't know if my pump seals are bad enough to do much about it yet except top off my reservoir.

Check your water pump that is a weep hole when the water pump starts to fail, pretty sure, mine did the same thing but only a little while the water pump failed pretty soon after i saw this...
