We had one hit our place in Hope, we had taken refuge in the shelter, damn tornado actually hit our well house, hopped over the house then hit our barn. Couldn't believe how lucky that was!

Growing up in OK, I have had a few "close encounters" myself.

In the mid-seventies we had twin twisters travel north to south along Peoria and Lewis, in Tulsa. Our house was halfway between the two.

Dad and I were standing on the front porch watching them until they got very close.
