Crime rate for NFL players is lower than a comparable sample from the general population.

Money and corrupt colleges/pro teams make sure they don't get convicted like the rest of the population.

They have to beat anything down to a misdemeanor at all costs so they can travel for work.

Would you or I have been able to afford the special representation required to get off the murder charge that ray lewis beat?

Yes, but very quickly.

The last couple of questions at the end are interesting.

We see far too many of these criminals on display here in the SF area, with 8 or 10 pro teams and their gangbanger fans.

Then you missed a large part where they compare the arrest rates along with the conviction rates. Both are lower than the comparative population.

It is a problem of publicity, not quantity.

Getting the kings shipped off to Seattle should lower the quantity of drunk drivers in the Sacramento area, and help CHP concentrate on other stuff.

Shit, just getting rid of the players will lower the DUI arrests significantly in the area.

The Raiders are famous for picking up other teams leftovers. You should know that .

Sometimes it works (Plunkett, Gannon)

Sometimes it fails (Moss, Harris, Rice(?) )

Otherwise a player being identified with just one team is a rarity nowadays, as opposed to the 70's.
