Yeah, I hadn't forgotten the gates on Mongolata Rd! Seeing as we're likely to have dinner at Burra, it'll be dark heading up to Caroona , so I figured we'll take the easy option and just head up the Caroona Rd to the eastern entrance on the Friday night, and head out via the western entrance on the Sat morning. Plan B will be to stay at the old school house at Mt. Bryan East (MBE) instead (not much quicker to get to, but does save a bit of time in the morning bypassing Caroona).I'll check out your suggestion re Ketchowla and Pine Creek - 'scenic' is preferred. Having not been up that way at all before, I'm open to suggestions. Any idea on rough time frame getting from MBE to Yunta via your suggested route? I was thinking about 3-4 hours depending on photos tops etc.

Rides
Yes about 3 hours riding time, Pine creek rd is a good ride.
We often ride thru Pitcairn and Makeking outstation then across to the Braemar rd (you need permission but its not really a problem). The railway access track from Yunta back to Peterborough is also a great ride. Drzwalker

![]() Is there anything at Pindarie Hut worth seeing? And/or, is the track past it worth a look? - that's the reason for my alternative route out of Ketchowla up to the Pine Creek Rd. |

ruins
The ruins of Pandapa stn are right on the road their is a fair bit of junk/rubbish, probably worth a look. . The Pindarie hut is off the main road and i havent been there, I will next time!
There are some ruins at Pine creek also worth a piccy, there is an old hut on the right as you ride in I have always thought it would be a good spot to camp. Drzwalker

bash plate misery
That traffic sign looks promising maybe one with "no motorcycles fines apply" on it?
![]() The last one managed to morph itself around a hiding rock but it saved the cases so I'm happy! It seems like I'm saved by Kiz so hats off mister and my gratitude will haunt you til the grave
