Great RR Joel, it was a real pleasure sharing the ride with you and the others.

Great RR senior Joel!
What bike is Maria riding?
And it looks like it's been lowered?
Have a friend that would do well w/ a bike like that.
Thx.

Very cool!

Joel,

Thanks for the pix. I miss Baja, and especially Mexican food, which they do not do in the Middle East!

Ride safe, Bob

Joel did a great ride report here on our Baja trip but it's only fair to add some pics of him on this trip as well:

Day 1 crossing the border

Getting the cats all herded up as we hit the dirt

Hah! A Pic of us both riding together using magic photo skills

the OG PYYPPP

Joel leading the charge up to Mike's Sky Ranch

Enjoying a Gonzaga Bay sunrise

Joel at Coco's

Let's hit the beach

Joel putting his ride to bed at Horsepower Ranch

Enjoying the fire as it was absolutely pissing rain outside

It was a fantasic ride and Joel always has great pics of everyone else so I'm glad to get a post up featuring the man himself. Let's go again!!!!!!

That concrete-lined stream crossing ... Slick?

But the more important question: The plastic water bottles hanging from that ceiling. Talismans, perhaps? (Def.: anything whose presence exercises a remarkable or powerful influence on human feelings or actions.)

Hey Joel,
Looks like you guys had a great time!

By the way, I'm pretty sure those hanging water bottles are supposed to keep the flies away.

Here's a fancy version.

Hey Joel,

I thought I was doing a pretty good job of following along with the Baja ride report, but can't for the life of me recall reading about where or why the group split and what happened to the others.

I've got to get back to Baja one of these days.

hi joe. thanks for stopping by.

originally, we had 10, and 8 showed up.

we lost 1 rider on the first day - his bike fell off the truck and sustain a major damaged.

next day, 1 rider sprained his ankle at laguna diablo, then had to be escorted by another rider back to socal. the remaining 5 riders proceeded to san felipe and gonzaga bay.

at the end of the third day, the berg's rear sprocket ran out of teeth. next day, he had to get a ride from another rider back to tecate and get his truck. one rider had to go home.

by the 4th and 5th day, only todd and i were the last men riding.

i felt bad for the others. this ride was in the planning for at least 4 months. really happy with my trusty 2002 ktm 640e. took me to a lot of places and been reliable for a while. only thing i've done lately is replaced the 4 year old odyssey with a lighter shorai.

that bike has been great and economical. just 2 weekends ago, i took it for a 500 mile ride to carrizo - pozo - hi mountain - camino cielo (above santa barbara) with no hiccup. wore out the rear 606 by the time i got home.

tune in, i have the pozo palooza ride report coming up soon.
