I'm happy to report that this theory has now been flight tested and proven to be true. I was flying my hex this morning when this happened:




It was the number 1 motor, the one right in the front. The hex pitched forward about 45 degrees before the controller got it leveled back out. It wasn't the best handling aircraft at that point, but it was controllable enough to get it back on the ground. Not a pretty landing, but gentle enough not to hurt anything. With a trike or quad it would have been a disaster.

A little soldering and double-checking of all the other connections and it's back to normal.

Cool it recovered.

Everything gets the 'tug test' on my planes especially if I didn't solder it, you should have seen the nasty solder joint to one of the pots in my DX5 tx...

I had a bad solder joint on a Deans connector on a battery I bought almost kill one of my planes- I hadn't tug/flex tested it in awhile.

I've had that problem a few times with my tri and you are correct....big crash! Same esc's...and motors.

thats pretty cool. I brought the Lancer Rallye kit three weeks ago - its still in the box - long story but itching to get it built. also going to get a Wildcat body shell for it too

Today was a nice day to go out and fly. I just wish I had more than two three-cells large enough to fly this bird.

I took 10 videos with my Go Pro and I am uploading the second one now. I'll upload the best of the 10.

Here is the 2nd video I shot today on the my 3rd ever flight of this quad outdoors. Loving it so far!

I took my hexcopter to a friends house for a Super Bowl party today. While everyone was inside watching commercials, I stayed outside and shot a few photos.

Thanks, Saget! Yes, quite addicting! I am happy with my purchase. I kinda bought it on a whim. I was looking to get something for video/FPV but couldn't decide. So I researched some quads and bought this one! Love it!

Nice pics. I remember you posting pics of that house before. I have, as you can see, a large field next to my apartment complex. Only problem is it's private farmland. Fun to fly over and I am pretty much guaranteed to find it if I crash, but I'd like to avoid tresspassing. But I can see for hundreds of yards. I'm glad it's there.

I think I may try to shoot exterior shots of my workplace tomorrow from the roof.

Craigslist Score. Picked up this HK EDF Vampire today along with 6 new 4S 50C batts. Came with a AR7000 reciever installed and seperate BEC. Nice scale retracts, can't wait to try it out this weekend

Saget, we ended up using two shop vacs. What a mess. The stuff became shredded and so full of static.

Nice video, too! I like the looks of it, especially with the body.

I haven't tried dampening yet. What software version are you running. Mine is 1.2. I hear 1.4 is much better at self-stabilization. But I need the dongle or whatever it is to flash the new version.

I have a Crius All In One Pro tha I want to try. Also a GPS for it to try out GPS hold, waypoint flying, and Return to Home.

But it's a little more involved than the KK.
