The rim decals are actually for the duke 690, can be found in the ktm powerpart book. Look for the duke accessories. Cheers

took off a caliper and brake disk


used the brae hose from a 950Adv. cut off the black plastic protective sheath to give it more flexibility



made a brake hose / speedo cable guide



mounted up the 60CSx using Stovey's cradle and went for a ride

"Frackmobile", I love it. I'm a big fan of JT and his crew's work. It was the SB8R that drew my attention first, what a beauty as well.

a bit wooden with the stock Adv master cyl. Still enough stopping power for regular usage and i doubt i'll ever go back to twin disk setup.

The SE master is highly recommended for better feel and progressive braking with a single caliper. I'll keep looking for a used one on the cheap.

Yeah - as you may have guessed, JT's a neighbor of mine and the night that photo was taken, I let him have a go on the 990. He'd ridden a 950 back when they first came to the US, and liked it lot, but this was his first time on the big Katoom since then and his maiden FI Adventure... Let alone one with a Remus pipe, hi-flow filter, proper suspension, Rekluse clutch and 'R' spec remap .

Direct quote after he'd been for a hoon around The Big Easy on my bike (largely on the back wheel too I might add):

"Man... What a cool, cool motorcycle. That is cool. Now I gotta have one."

Just out of shot in the photo is the LC4 Duke, which he bought in '95 or something, even though he described it as "unrideable" at the time. There was no TuneECU type things then, so that was quickly corrected by ripping out the FI and installing race carbs, along with pulling quite a few of the engine internals, which he 'lightened up" considerably, removing the rev limiter in the process. It definitely rides now...

I fitted a new set of heated grips and the remote master switch.

Then went back in the house and drank coffee

Mounted up a new Heidenau K60 Scout and a used D606 on front

Let me know how you get on with the scouts. I put a set of Mefos on and as I'm running a 47t rear sprocket the tyre profile has worn through the rear spring guard.

So make sure you check it

Yep. I don't think i'll go for a 320mm for now as i'm mostly riding alone without a pillion/luggae. But if i need to do more of 2-up with luggage touring/riding on tarmac, i might consider it.

• Crash bars
• Pegs
• Kickstand relocator
• Rear rack.

Stuck on:

• Stickers.

Just waiting for the bars, hand guards, clutch cover, tires - along with a few other bits and pieces (oh yeah... better not forget the luggage either! ) - and we'll be all set
