Friday Ride
Friday there were only a few of us. It wasn't long before we ran into water. This was the good kind.
  I was riding second and decided to let a couple guys go by me, they swear I knew what was up ahead.   It was a dead end and some real soft stuff.  Billy still couldn't believe Fu polished his swing arm.   Had to make a sight-seeing stop. The road was closed, but that didn't stop us.  You don't see very many waterfalls in Florida. The water was way down. but still was cool.  Chicken showed up after the ride on Friday. Not too often a KLR shows up on a trailer. On tomorrows post you'll see that this ended up being a good choice.  Friday was a great day. We put in just under 100 miles.

BQF V was... well... another quality event with a bunch of cool FFs!
 Lots of food, booze, and quality fireside entertainment.  Here's some Friday ride pics... Casa FIL for the weekend...  Ride leader... Just Country (Mike)! Thanks for leading the ride d00d.  Hello to you too Pete...  It was pretty dry out there this year which made the trails passable. We did manage to find some mud though...    At one of the intersections...  Mr Fu...  At the West tower...  I had to drop a deuce in the WC...  That was the cleanest bathroom in all of the forest. It was complete with reading material & hand sanitizer. Falling Waters county park. Never heard of it until Mike suggested we should check it out...        I guess somebody knew I was coming to check it out...   At every ADV event I've been to, there's never been a shortage of food. This one wasn't any different.     Some chucklehead even made dump cakes...    Usual random BS's sessions going on...    Fire pics... good heat coming outta that one!    Saturday ride pics... more FFs showed up. I think it was about 14 or so. Mike led the ride again through some choice trails...   Buzz on the 690...   Trail break while we sorted a no-start condition on a DR...  Water crossing before lunch...   Some took the alternate route... Pssst... it was easier to go through the middle of the puddle... just sayin!      Lunch stop... sorry, no pics of food but, as has been reported, an extra sammich plate was available.   After lunch festivities... a chucklehead riding a KTM decided it was a good idea to go through a water crossing           Flash...  Oh no...    A few more...      A little too much water for the KLRjr. No FF left behind...     Bridge across I-10...      Back at camp before sundown...  Good times as always!  A little mishap on the way back home...  The alternator pulley decided to wallow itself out on the shaft.    FIL took the DRZ and got a replacement... fixed in, well... about 50 miles give or take  Thanks to all that made BQFV a success. I enjoyed riding & bs'in with y'all!

Good times all around and good to meet a few new people.
KLR pad issue has been addressed I went online and did some digging and found the axle spacer on the caliper side appeared to be a bit thicker than required. Replaced it with a new thinner version and the pad is no longer able to fall out and its a lot easier to put the rim on no more prying required to wedge it in the swing-arm.After 5 years of dealing with that problem and replacing pads before they're due its finally fixed Thanks again to Matt for securing the site, Mike for leading, and everyone else for showing up and having a good time.

I didn't really sleep, and didn't go riding, but still had a great time hanging out with all of you. The whole lot of you are just good company.

Anyone else check their air box? Had some nice looking crud in mine. Air filter looked like a 10 year old silt fence.

 Filter definitely has a nice coat of dust on it though.

Saturday
After working on this for over a half hour this site locked up so will do small multiple posts. We had beautiful weather and a few problems.
 Fu took a little dirt slide and smelt like swamp water all day.  This was after a water crossing where the little KLR decided to not start.  Telling lies on the trail, that and the food is why we come out here!  Looks like a parade  After kicking and pulling Adam emptied the carb bowl and this little gem came to life.  More trail lies.  What a great week-end. More to follow.
