Need some tech input, please
There have been some really good posts--the Zuma tuning stuff from our resident Zuma gurus, Dieter's Ruckus mods, Bueller's Pinasco work, and so on.
Anyone got any recommendations for 1) what kind of tech info they'd like to see 2) which tech stuff they've read here they'd like to see consolidated into a "hall of wisdom" sort of thing we can sticky and/or consolidate 3) purchase advice - has any thread or information helped you narrow down a purchase? 4) a way to organize this sort of info - by displacement, brand, repair type (engine mod, cvt mods, electrical, etc) I'm just trying to get a feel for what we could build into a nice archive or FAQ. Thanks!

I would love hear stories about people who have used their scoots to go camping or long distance touring. How did they pack their stuff? Vespa's and Stella's seem easy to get going fast. My Vino 125 goes almost fast enough and the brakes seem adequate but the suspension is killing me. IMHO speed is OK, but the quality of the ride is at least equally important. What sort of tires and suspension tweaking would help the quaility of the ride? How about accessories for the bike like led lights and FM radios and GPS mounts? I used to think a GPS on a scooter was silly, but they are really really handy for selecting those 45 mph roads instead of the 55 or 60 mph ones. How 'bout a mileage contest? Most miles in a year - most in a 12 or 24 hour period....? Ride reports. Upcoming events. |

I need wardrobe advice. Where can I get cool scooter clothes? You know, like bowling shirts and stuff like that.

Ok, here is the germinal/general idea... We have plenty of room in the HoW and I was looking to add some good material (tech articles etc) that covers a wider range of makes and models. As long as the material is well written, and serves a purpose that people find useful, helpful or (given this crowd) even just a good read, it could be considered a suitable candidate for inclusion in the HoW.
JJ ps. I would think a well written expose of the proper attire for skewteristas would be great... Bowling shirts indeed!

Ideally what I'd like to see is some easy-to-find stuff here in the forum--hence the organizational bit--and then the best bits hit HoW.

I think so little is known about scooters that folks come here to learn two things:
- which one to buy - how to mod it up It would be cool if there were some sort of reference re each bike model. Uhhh, speaking of which, I need to do this for the Malaguti.
