We all turn into our fathers over time don't we? He was obsessed with boats and not motorbikes, but it's all the same in the end.

Still funny to me that my Dad owned all those boats over the years and not many knew that he couldn't swim What kind of maniac can't swim and enjoys taking boats out into the middle of very deep lakes

Wish he was still around to see me now and NO he didn't die of drowning

Part Five (Noe. Dirt)

After a couple weeks to rest the ribs and hip, rattle can the crash bars, get the shifter sorted and buy some gear Moe.ron was ready to head out for some more adventures ..no dirt though ...Commander of Home Fleet's orders...that would be his wife...when ever I call lately I can hear her yelling about something in the background..something along the lines of "NO!! Tell him your not going!!" She thinks we act like 12 year olds whenever we hang out...I say more like 15 year olds



Up the 101 to the goodness...chilly this morning, for SOCAL standards...40s! brrrr

Off the 101 to Gilbraltar and East Camino Cielo...last time Moe.ron was here it was raining, freezing with about zero visibility ...today was cold, windy with some dramatic clouds...pretty damn cool to see the clouds blowing over the ridge ...pictures never do it justice, but we try













In the shade was ever present hazard of late..Ice..I don't if it's been an unusually cold winter here since it's only my second winter here, but man there is alot of snow and ice compared to last year

Dropping down off East Camino to 154 Chumash Highway, down into the valley, the temps climbed to the 50s, greenest greens, lots of happy steaks in the pasture, wine country








Figueroa Mountain Road...we pass MJ's Neverland Ranch...we didn't stop

Then we climb and it gets narrow..if East Camino Cielo is a one lane two way road then this is a sidewalk, at times I felt like I was riding on a multi-use trail

My lovely wife (The Commander that refers to us as 12 year olds!) generously contributed to the purchase of some proper tires, which is good because I am flat busted broke. Heidenau K60 Scouts are on the way. I need to come up with something special for her on Valentines Day.

I think she might be under the impression better tires may save my life, she could be right, definitely couldn't hurt!
