just stopped by after work today...gate from Maple Springs road is open

I made there around 5:50pm after work, and it sure did get dark quickly.

so I only made it about a 1/4 mile down the paved part of Maple Springs before seeing another truck and turning around...

looks like I'll have to come back for a morning trip (maybe next Sunday) to hit some unpaved sections

too bad my green sticker bike can't even touch the area...such a teaser!

good ride Thorsday mr. thumbs! I didn't want my two lay downs to hold us back so I just kept charging it until I won. Nighttime is the best time.

Thanks for making it up grinchy Saturday. I woke-up and had lots of things to do.....but then....it was sunny and nice and the gate was open. Cook's in early am is always a trip. It cracks me up how those people look so hard for where that smell is coming from....it's a BIKER bar folks, well at least it WAS. Seems to me it's just a place to look hard now. Glad the old guy is still doing security, am MORE glad he finally got a fuggin dog so I can bring mine down now without him mean mugging my ass.

Views were clear and you could actually see the buildings down San Diego way, including the entire coastline and even Point Loma was sticking out. You could also see downtown LA, but the coastline to the northwest was shrouded in marine layer/fog. We stayed at the top for a few hours. Grinch found three PBR's unopened and still chilled from the night. He was happy, he needed them to sooth his parched throat.

I wouldn't complain if the desert was 10 minutes away!

Best ride ever was running the dunes after a light overnight rain on an east to west run of Mojave Trail.

Hmmm, I'll be doing that ride on Sat instead of CNF ... riding Bradshaw Trail east tomorrow and Mojave Rd. west on Sat.

CNF sucks

Rode it last night by myself. Epic as usual. Took all the hard ways. Pray for rain...

Best part??? didn't have to drive hours home. Local rides rule.

And to think, I rode my Ninja a 200 mile round trip to get a cool handlebar switch and test out a new Beta 300RR two stroke. What was I thinking!!

I ordered all the uncorking crap for my xr.... Pulled the carb and the previous owner had already done most of it..... Anyone in the area need an open carb insulator and a B53E needle? Brand new $20. Cheaper than I paid. Let me know.

At least it was fun taking apart the carb and seeing it has been well taken care of.
