Thought I'd say hello!

I'm new to the ADV world but not new to motorbicycles!!

Crossed the states on the 640 ADV(06) I bought in San Fran and 3 weeks later and much beer arrived in NJ! Anyway now its alive and well in Swindon! (Not quite the same ring eh)?! But anyway it's pretty standard apart from a Touratech Plate on the rack and nice seat. Any good websites for luggage/Engine bars n lights geatly apreciated.!

Right fork leg floats on the axle. Loosen the axle clamps on the right fork and pull it away from the rotor.

Best is to leave the right clamp loose, roll the front wheel perpendicular to a wall and pump the suspension a few time to help the clamp find its proper and parallel location on the axle. Once aligned tighten the right clamp.

Clean the axle and the axle clamp passages with a Scotch-brite pad or a dish washer pad.

Your owners manual explains how to mount the front wheel.

Richie, you cant get any engine bars for these anymore, trust me Ive tried. Any website that tells you they can get the Hepco Becker bars will shortly thereafter tell you they cant because HB stopped selling them due to cracking. There is however a great vendor on this forum out of Australia that makes a Dakar style skidplate that holds tools and whatever else you want. Search RockHard Rally Gear

+1. I use one of his bashplates and I have field tested the crash protection too. I still have my foot, so it works.

Tip: I put some holes in the front of mine to aid airflow around the crankcases for those hot Aussie summer days, it made a big difference.

Tip 2: If you have long feet, mention your boot sized when ordering, otherwise you might end up annoyed at scraping the back of the toolboxes with your boot all day long.

They are good kit, and protect the fuel taps too.

Heard good things about the All Balls, KTM stuff is usually a good bet. The 2 can be very different in price!

Sound good....although I didnt suffer any over heating at all on my 640 in death valley last september. Think it got to 43c!! Stupid heat!! It appreciated the oil change after mind!!

Well I'm going to keep the orange beast so any clever bits of kit to keep it straight(ish) I'll be interested in!

Most of that area is like that. There's a great little area on route to it of sand and muck hills that is loads of fun to play around in.

Any bearing store should have (or be able to get quickly) the rear bearings for much cheaper than KTM. The numbers are in the parts manual. Fronts too for my bike, 05+ Adv's are different in the front so not sure on those.

Holan.pl has 2 versions. I asked them a few days ago, and they said that both their Pro crashbar and the light crashbar fits a KTM 640 Adventure 2003.
Anyone tried them? (I will order in a few days I think).
