According to the history page of the new Polaris/Indian company, 1923 Indian dropped the motocycle designation and began referring to their bikes as motorcycles.

A quick internet search.....

1922

Here is a reprint of a rider's manual from 1923--still has motocycle on the logo.

1923

1924

My quick internet search was unable to yield a definitive answer.

Anybody?

Educate me here. That looks like a Harley Servi-Car. Did Indian make a Servi Car?

Indian called it a "Dispatch-Tow". Originally used for delivering or picking up a car for service. They had a tow bar on the front forks and were ridden to the customer's location and towed back behind the car.

I showed those two Betty Page pics to a coworker, and he wasn't impressed - said she was too fat!

What an Idiot.

It only works on pre unit engines. The unit barrels have an oil feed to the exhaust tappets and there's also an extra off-center headbolt between the bores.
