CB650 Custom, 1981, my first and current bike
[img] http://s1303.beta.photobucket.com/us..._0851.jpg.html
This gal was 750 (checked receipts again) and I put some cash into CDI box, air filter, a set of plugs, oil filter, and a VRR. She also included the fairing shown elsewhere on my photobucket page, as well as the sissy bar and luggage rack. I did get a set of soft saddle bags and a touring rucksack set for her. I only need bag supports now (they are rubbing on the shocks). [img] http://s1303.beta.photobucket.com/us..._0849.jpg.html This is the other side, and the fairing... Greg and Mtl-Marc, thanks to both of you for the leg up! I have not figured how to get my photobucket images onto the thread yet, other than just sending a link. Do I HAVE TO load them to a pay site to make them show here?
Mtl-Mark, that is one sweet cafe conversion you have there! I will keep you in mind, because I have been dealing with some minor issues that may require some parts. The seat I have is in very good shape at the moment, but who knows what I am going to find underneath it. I have already been wiring, tightening, oiling, greasing, etc., all sorts of things on the bike. Every now and then I run into a problem and have to dig more pennies out of the couch... Then my wife shows me the bills, and I give them to her... ![]() By the way, where did you find that fuel tank? I would like to locate one that will bolt up to my bike that is larger than 3 gallons and change. A closer to 5 gallon tank would be nice...?? ![]() Any idea how to get the faceplate inside this speedo to stop wiggling? I am assuming it is somehow loose, maybe the two center screws, but don't see a way to open the gauge up...?? Oh, btw it is my CB650C (1981)... I suppose I wanted to show my moderate odometer, which is why I asked here, please forgive me!

The glass (plastic?) lens is held on with a crimped on bezel. Unfortunately, that's the only way inside. You're probably right, the two screws have backed out a little and now the face wiggles. Good idea handling that now before it gets worse.

Bogieboy, thanks for the info! How simple that is! Appreciate it! Wirespokes, well, so how do I get the bezel open without trashing it? ![]() Do I have to destroy the bezel in removing it, then buy another one someplace (like anyone will HAVE one???). Is this going to be the start of my ratting of this bike? Is it going to be cheaper to just get another entire gauge??
