If you have the two separate oil/foam filters probably not. It would seem the plug is mostly to prevent water from becoming free standing in the hole and ultimately leaking into the air box.

Hmmmm, I thought it was a chastity plug to prevent you sickos from taking your

Nope. Unhook the two front plastic locks, flip it back, fill up, re-attach, done.
