We took the bike to the boat....
Here's a pic from last week. Fishing for perch, girlfriend landed a nice channel cat. It's the biggest fish she has ever caught.

Ready to go. Fuel cost forced me to park my boat and switch to a more economical way to fish.

I'm used to forums where you set all threads to have an email notification so I didn't realise this thread "popped out of the water". Here's a couple of pics creek fishing in northern Ontario for speckle trout.

A very inspiring thread, and thanks for the fish.
Getting a little excited up here in northern BC. I've bought a bike (DR650), it's still almost 1500 km's away yet I've ordered my Safari tank and packing my fishing gear in order to get out on the lakes come spring. Looking forward to learning to fish the large rivers around me also. Been sorting my gear, finding that my Fish Cat packs the smallest of my 'boats', and I still need to get a 4 piece rod. A high quality camera is in order to. Might be on the look out for a small float tube like GISdood has also. Nice ride/fishing reports GISdood!! For the last 5 years have been casting on the reservoirs for giant Snakehead, Jungle Perch, and cats, with never enough river fishing, for Mahseer, in Thailand. Yes, many many times I used my wading boots as my riding boots, only during fishing trips of course, not the best protection and killer on shiny tile flooring found in any Thai store. I have GB's of pictures of fish'es, but too few taken with quality camera's. Always have preferred fishing to looking at pictures of fish. I can't wait to get back to this kind of hard work My nickname; what I heard often over 20 plus years married, "haven't you been fishing enough?" Now being single what's to stop me from going fishing...............

Trails were frozen the other morning so I had the ride of my life to try some ice fishing.

I need a packable rod. This was on a musky fishing trip over to Wisconsin. We caught nothing, but had a really good time
![]() ![]() Do you guys know of any good affordable 7 weight fly rods that pack down? I need to get back into fly fishing. |

Alpacka PackRaft
Yippee!! My packraft arrived, lookout trout! It weighs less than 6 lbs and folds into a compact bag which will be strapped to my Yamaha. The oar is a 4 piece.
This model is called the unrigged explorer. I'm still ice fishing around my parts, winter just doesn't want to leave this year.
