I had a blast @ KOM this year! Huge props to Jimmy and Dave for putting on the event. Scotty also did a great job on the mic all day and I loved the big screen TV at the finish line. Kinda cool to be watching live coverage on the trails and glimpses of heli-footage while Larry Roesler and family are eating hot dogs right next to us. The day before I got to ride with Graham Jarvis, who was out pre-running this EXTREME ENDURO race. Graham said he was a little jet-lagged but was enjoying his time riding in the desert.

That downhill section of the trail was 'no joke'.

Robo-Boogie said the same thing about that last downhill coming into the finish. Told us it was the gnarliest part of the whole course. Didn't get to see it. Anyone have any pics?

Thats the only way that most people know how to describe it. It in no way adhere's to American "Enduro" rules. |

On the ground, for event organization, it was kind of nice for a few reasons.
1. We didn't have to police the entire valley making sure people stayed off the course because it was open! 2. New riders were able to see what they were in for, do some testing on their bikes, do testing with the GPS and get ready to race on sunday. 3. there was no hometown advantage. with most riders being from out of town if gave them a chance to learn the terrain and get a feel for what was going on. |

The event was a blast. We had the chance to stay the full week and catch the UTV's and big trucks as well. Here's a short video of the little bit of action we caught of the moto race. We had no idea how spread out this would be an with a lack of transportation only covered minimal ground.
Video here: http://mixedfuelmotorsports.com/2013-king-of-the-motos/ We've got some of the photos of the big trucks qualifying and the Every Man Challenge up on Facebook if anyone is interested in those. http://www.facebook.com/MixedFuelMotorsports |

Hope this isn't a repost. Looks brutal. I was out there in 09 and can't imagine riding in that terrain on 2 wheels.

Watch some of the videos from the cars racing this year and by comparison, it looks like a lot of the bikes were making better time through the toughest sections. Would be curious to know if that's right/wrong.

It sure would be far more fun in a 2wheeled vehicle to me. A good friend got 2nd or 3rd in the UTV race and that sounds like a blast. The unlimited class is too out of reach financially for most hobbyists anymore. Heck the Every Mans Challenge (EMC) was more high dollar than it was in 09. It's a fantastic race and hope it continues to grow and the hammers stay open.

I would have released the parking brake on that Jeep.
