New 990 Adventure owner
I just purchased a new 2012 990 Adventure which I delivery of this Saturday Feb 16th. With my other bikes being a XR600R and DRZ400S.
All brands and models have their own little quirks. What can I expect from big orange crush? What is the typical fuel mileage and range on highway, and on fireroads? I have heard stories about the fuel mapping having to be upgraded to what is on the Adventure R? What tires work best for 80/20, 50/50, and 20/80 Highway/Dirt? How confortable will this be to tour on for long distance. My old BMW was a work horse and was pretty predictable. With the setup I had I could be in the saddle for hours with no discomfort. Any suggestions on ergonomics? When I get a picture of her I will post. I will be the guy with the huge grin on my face.
