I don't have a pipe so all the noise was wind and the whining from the triple. You would rather have music, trust me.

It actually makes me want a pipe now.

I would suggest that 5W is, maybe, (I am speculating a bit here) too low for the cam chain tensioner to work properly when really cold. I wouldn't use any oil that's outside the recommended viscosity (10W-40) when a vital part needs oil pressure to work.

I use the same stuff Triumph uses (Castrol Racing 4T) but in a 10W-50. Seems to last a little longer. Oh, and I have never gone as far as the recommended 6k miles between oil changes. More like around 3-4k.

Where are you finding the oil at? I have been looking and not found it at any of the big name auto parts stores.
