update

I am still alive. The frame is done! Painted and installed. The fender is also done. It still needs painted. My brake line is in the mail. I will now be starting on the body work. I'll try to post pictures tonight. Stay tuned.

I finished the brakes today. I made it so you can brake the rear bike wheel and the car wheel simultaneously or brake just the car wheel. I don't know how well it works yet... I will add a parking brake at some point.

Your brake lever configuration is genius. The hack brake alone will help with right hand turns. Good on ya for taking on a large project and following thru to completion. Waiting to see the final paint.

It is still in the 20's at night so I still consider that winter. There is still snow/ice on all the mt. roads. I should be done soon. I will need some warmer weather for painting the tub. My make shift paint booth doesn't hold the heat very well. The fender is ready to paint, so all I need to do is fix the dents/holes in the tub and prep it for paint. Yea!! my least favorite part of projects.....bodywork!!

Can't wait!

You did a hell of a job on the bike, I followed religiously, it came out great. I'm just waiting to see what you come up with on this!

I love the old dirtbikes, it's nice to see someone save one instead of throwing it out. GREAT JOB!!

paint

I am trying to decide what paint scheme to go with. I have blue and silver paint left from the bike that I plan on using. I am trying to decide if I should go with a matching scheme or I also thought about going with a blue and silver camo pattern or something weird. I also thought about just painting the tub all silver so that If I ever mounted it on a different bike it would have a good chance of not clashing. Any thoughts?

tripple clamps

awesome trip didnt want to come home
as for the trees
i bought a set on ebay and made a fixture to mount them in
i cut the bottom around the stem moved the jig out 5 degrees and re welded it
on the top i mounted it in the mill upside down at 5 degrees and milled it off flat also over board the center hole so it can be tightened down
i have pics and can talk you through it
way better than spending 600.00 bucks and it is an awesome upgrade for not much cash

Sounds good! That is something I might be interested in doing that. I want to build leading links but I also really want to start riding, so I might save that project for the end of riding season.
