Laugh Vintage Warehouse Tour ...

Kalle arranged a tour for us of Dennis Magri's warehouse, here on the west coast ... it is stuffed with vintage Vincents, Indians, Vellocetts, Triumphs and BSAs ...

Dennis and his steamboat ...

Some of the gang who showed up for this treat of a tour ... Dennis is full of history and information learned both from books and at first hand ... he is a Renascence man ...

The Vindian ... Dennis finished this bike and rides it ... I chased him in Death Valley at 80 mph ...

Dennis's 1948 Vincent-engined Indian Chief is a replica he built of the prototype built by the two factories in the late 1940s ... Indian had been unable to invest in creating an over-head valve engine to replace the venerable flat-head ... a partnership with Vincent would have created an easy path to update the Chief with a light, powerful drive train ... We got to sit on a Chief and the Vindian back-to-back, and marveled at how light the Vindian felt ... It feels easily a hundred pounds less than the 600 lb Chief ... even though it isn't much lighter, I've heard ...

Here is a link to a website with more information on the Vindian.

More in a bit ...

Hi Prmurat,

So cool! Dennis isn't afraid to ride that Vindian ...

Here's some more pics ... the first bike is the right hand side of the red Vincent with the Steib sidecar that you saw at Alice's, I'm guessing ...

Here are some of Dennis's Vincents ...

This last pic gives a bit of a view of the Steib sidecar on the red Vincent ...

Dennis's garage is really a warehouse, with his bikes collected in three large connected rooms ...

The mill or lathe ...

Lots of well-organized storage ...

More in a bit ... Indians and British bikes ...

Awesome! I wish I was there. I haven't been to his shop in years! I look down at it every time I go get parts at SFBMW.

Hi vtwin,

Yes, non-black Vincents ... I especially liked the blue Vincent ... wonder if the red and blue were stock colors?

Hi Prmurat,

Does Dennis have a James Bond Aston? A DB5? We didn't look at the two cars he has up off the floor on lifts ... have to ask about his Austin ...

Thanks for reading!
