I do wish you yankees bought more naked bikes. For rather selfish reasons, too. There's a fuckton of standards in Europe, but those that never make it over the pond tend to have a very limited community of riders.
The Yamaha MT-01 a few replies behind is an excellent example of this. There used to be one English-speaking forum out there for it, but it's been closed down. What remains are a few dutch/french/german forums. As somebody who can only guesstimate his way through those languages, they aren't really an option. I don't consider advrider to be American per se, but I think it's still a good example of the online communities you've built :) Another point is that bikes which never make it to the USA tend to naturally have a very limited variety of aftermarket parts. Boo. :(

I'm with you on the Suzuki and the Honda. I never liked the swing arm on the Kawasaki, though.

I kinda like that thing even thought it just appears to be a sportbike with no fairing....
technically it's a standard, I suppose. Looks like fun!

I love that Kawasaki, if it were green. It looks a lot like the '83 Eddie Lawson Replica I wanted so badly back then.
Has anyone considered the first gen Yamaha V-Max? It's basically a standard, on steroids.
