This thread was very entertaining and informative. And long. I can say my Ural left me stranded with a busted final drive and another time with a failing coil. That being said my daughter and I still plan on a short tour this summer when she gets home from Korea. We both love this bike, an 07 Gear up.

"Rescued each other", how very true. My Pug is a therapy dog, but in reality, has provided more therapy to me than anyone else. Also, Pugsley rides on my Wing's pillion seat, strapped and harnessed. he loves it. Dogs have a soul, no doubt in my mind.

Some might think this is going off subject maybe, but truly it is not.
Ural means +Dog [for some as us]. It is truly the ONLY reason I got into sidecars. So very true Dogs have Soul and more. Some laugh when I say I have learned so much from him, being in the "moment", no "worries" and so much more. Of course Life on the Road revolves around him. "No shade, no stop" and more rules we must adhere to. Yet again, it is with the Ural that we can get to the places where we are comfortable, him being off the leash [he has a Bear Bell], isolated areas where we can camp for as long as we want. All is such a win win situation.

:P I bought a sidecar after we go the dog (also rescued from a dog-pound). Unfortunately he hates riding. :) Since the woman in the family feels unsafe in a 3m radius of a bike, the sidecar sits in storage waiting to be sold. :/
