The weather man says it is suppose to be beautiful this weekend. Anyone up for a ride?

Thought I saw Mr. Vintage on Hwy 12 Friday, not too many SL350 running around this area.

He saw me riding in Moscow a couple weeks ago and came over and introduced himself (he was not on his bike). We had a good chat in the parking lot for a bit, it didnt sound like he had been riding much lately. He told me about the Wallowa gathering coming up and sounded like he usually attends that?

He has been puttin in quite abit of hours workin on the weekends. We have been tryin to get out a couple of times to
ride, but the weather on the weekends has been a lil iffy.

Going to be 55F in Lewiston today, get the bikes out and head this way.

I was out of town all weekend in the gorge on a family outing, all the time thinking about getting on a bike. This morning - snow! Soon....

I'll be back from Arizona this week and will be looking for a ride when ever the weather permits. I didn't take my motorcycle so I am wanting to get back in the saddle. The ATV was fun, but not like a motorcycle.

I will be in Asotin Saturday, Mar 16. Mrs. dhally has a meeting at the fairgrounds. I'm planning on bringing one of the bikes - anybody want to go riding?

As far as I know I have that date free. All we need is some nice weather.

Two rides on my list are :
1. over to the Grande Ronde via Shumaker grade ( or over the the Oasis on 129)
2. a mostly pavement loop up to Pierce and back , stopping for lunch in Pierce at the Vug restuarant probably

There is a lot of snow in the high country. Field Springs has 20". I bet Shumaker is plenty sloppy on top.

2 good rides this time of year on nice days are to Elk City and Lolo Pass. The rivers are beautiful with all the snow. The roads are usually dry.

Sloppy can be fun too, I knew that when I put that route down.

I always like the water crossings along the river,.

Hit fiels springs near noon so there is no ice on the road and you get ll the fun stuff on the far side, maybe up to the snow line on Cougar creek ?
Or just up Redmond grade and around by Flora or Crouse flats up to the snow line...

If I head up the river it will probably be the Pierce loop.

I gather you will be riding the DR rather than the GS. I remember the fun we had in slop a couple of years ago when you were on the GS.

Not sure if i'm familiar with that one? (not by name anyway). Where does that come out on the Grande Ronde in relationship to the Restaurant at the bottom of Rattlesnake grade?

It is a dead end road that comes out several miles down stream. You come off the top and drop down to the river. It is a nice ride.
